What is
Reflexology?
Reflexology is an extremely relaxing treatment performed on the feet.
This form of natural healing is an ancient Chinese therapy that has been
practiced for thousands of years and came to Britain in 1960. It is
beneficial for the young or old, male or female.
Reflexes on our hands and feet act as mirror images of our body, and by
using specific pressure techniques, energy blockages can be detected
through the presence of minute ‘gritty’ areas and tender reflexes which
correspond to the part of the body that is out of balance. This pressure
point massage helps to restore the flow of energy, (chi) throughout the
body, stimulating the body’s own ability to heal itself.
Reflexology aims to improve the individual’s overall energy levels and
their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing by increasing
circulation to the internal organs, glands and other parts of the body
through the feet.
How can Reflexology help?

What happens during your first treatment?
A detailed medical history will be taken. It will also be useful
to have further information about your current state of health,
lifestyle, emotional state, sleeping habits and diet. This is
because Reflexology treats the whole person (holistic). This will
help to focus on the right treatment for you as an individual. All
information given will be treated with the strictest confidence.
Only shoes and socks need be removed. All reflex areas will be
worked, which will stimulate sluggish systems and calm over-active
ones, helping to restore balance in your body (homeostasis).
At the end of treatment, you will be given some written advice which
will help you to maintain the benefits you have received. After
